On June 28 and 29, the entire town of San Anselmo will kick off its 25th anniversary celebration of its popular and award-winning San Anselmo Art & Wine Festival, presented by the San Anselmo Chamber of Commerce.
This vibrant summertime festival is situated in the picturesque town of San Anselmo in the heart of Marin County with breathtaking views of Mount Tamalpais. Some 50,000 attendees come each year to view original artwork by 200 celebrated artisans; sample gourmet wine and food; attend performances by acclaimed entertainers; and visit the childrens’ art activities and rides.
As the Chamber’s largest fund-raising event of the year, all proceeds go toward underwriting programs that bolster San Anselmo’s economy and support local businesses, including: emergency services, high school internship programs, the biannual San Anselmo Business & Visitor’s Guide, business advertising programs, post-event sidewalk cleaning, the San Anselmo Holiday Gift Guide, Santa’s Holiday Lighting Festival, and much more.
What’s New for 2008: New event producer, Eckerstrom Productions, aims to make the 2008 festival the most successful one yet. Here are just a few of the changes planned:
- Boosting pre-event advertising, promotion and PR efforts
- Increasing sponsorship value—with many new participation benefits
- Soliciting more local business participation and community partnerships
- Applying a more rigorous jury process—to select the highest-quality original art possible
- Putting the “wine” (and beer) back into the “Art & Wine Festival”!
- Signing more top-name entertainment
- Locking in a more convenient date—to guarantee more visitors
- Offering a more economical vendor fee structure
- Remapping the layout, to draw traffic to all corners of the festival
- Power-washing the sidewalks after the event
